Share & embed your albums anywhere

Every EventFlick album can be shared with a public link and embedded on your own website in a few minutes — no coding required, and it's included on every plan.

2. Choose how to embed it

Pick whichever fits your website — you can always switch later.

Best for: any website builder — one HTML tag, zero setup.

The simplest way to put an album on your own website is an iframe. Your album's Share & Embed panel has a ready-made snippet — copy it as-is, or use the pattern below with your own album token:

<iframe src="https://eventflick.nl/embed/album/{token}"
        width="100%" height="600" frameborder="0"
        allowfullscreen loading="lazy"></iframe>

Paste it anywhere you can add custom HTML: your CMS's HTML block, a page builder's embed element, or straight into a template. The iframe is 600 pixels high; change height to fit your page. Photos that don't fit scroll inside the frame.

This works on WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, and any custom-built site — anywhere an iframe tag is allowed.

Best for: a native look that matches your site's own fonts and layout.

For a more native look — matching your site's own fonts and layout instead of living inside a boxed frame — use the JavaScript widget instead. Copy the snippet from your album's Share & Embed panel, or adapt the pattern below:

<div id="ef-album"></div>
<script src="https://eventflick.nl/widget/album/{token}.js"
        data-target="#ef-album"
        data-columns="3"
        data-per-page="24"></script>

The widget renders a responsive photo grid with a lightbox, pagination, and — if you've enabled it — an hour filter bar, directly on your page, with no iframe involved.

Turn on Hour dividers in the album's Share & Embed panel to show time labels between groups of photos in the widget, handy for long events.

Customization attributes

AttributeDefaultWhat it does
data-target#ef-albumCSS selector of the element the widget mounts into.
data-columns3Number of grid columns on wider screens.
data-columns-mobile2Number of grid columns on narrow screens.
data-per-page24Photos per page (maximum 50).
data-themelightlight or dark — matches the widget's colors to your page.
data-lightboxtrueSet to false to disable the click-to-enlarge lightbox.
data-bg—Custom background color (any CSS color value), overrides the theme default.
data-color#BA7517Accent color used for buttons, active filters, and links.
data-page-paramef_pageName of the URL parameter the widget keeps the current page in, so a link to page 2 opens page 2. Change it if your site already uses that name.
data-hour-paramef_hourName of the URL parameter for the chosen hour in the hour filter.

The widget shows a small “Powered by EventFlick” credit in its footer.

Best for: WordPress sites — install the plugin and pick your album from a list, no code to paste.

Running WordPress? Use the free EventFlick plugin instead of pasting code. It puts the photos in your page's HTML, with alt text and schema.org markup, so search engines see a real gallery instead of an empty embed. The gallery then turns into the interactive widget in the browser.

Install and connect

  1. Download the EventFlick WordPress plugin (.zip).
  2. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, install the downloaded file, then activate it.
  3. Open EventFlick in the WordPress menu, click Connect EventFlick account and confirm the short code on eventflick.nl. There are no API keys to copy.

Add an album to a page

Add the EventFlick Album element in the editor you build your pages with and choose your event and album. The event linked to your site through Allowed Embed Domains is selected for you, and an album that isn't shared yet is shared in one click.

Every element has the same settings: columns on desktop (1–6) and mobile (1–4), photos per page (6–50), a light or dark theme, the lightbox on or off, and an accent colour. You find the album token in the album's Share & Embed panel.

The shortcode

Where there's no EventFlick element, such as in a widget area or a classic theme, paste the shortcode. Only the token is required; leave out any attribute to use its default:

[eventflick_album token="{token}" columns="3" columns_mobile="2"
                  per_page="24" theme="light" lightbox="yes"
                  accent_color="#BA7517"]

The older [eventflick_embed] shortcode still works, but it loads the gallery in an iframe, which search engines don't count as part of your page.

Best for: tools that auto-embed a pasted link, like Notion.

Some tools don't need an iframe or a widget snippet at all. Platforms that support the oEmbed standard — including WordPress's built-in embed handling, Notion, and several other blogging and note-taking tools — turn a public album link pasted on its own line into a rich embed automatically.

Behind the scenes, this works by requesting /oembed/album/{token}, which returns the embed HTML as JSON per the oEmbed 1.0 specification.

3. Restrict which sites can embed your album

Once you've made an album public, its iframe and widget can be embedded on any website by default. If you'd rather limit that to your own domain(s) — for example, to stop someone else copying your gallery onto their site — you can restrict it per event:

  1. Open the event the album belongs to (not the album itself).
  2. Scroll to the Allowed Embed Domains section — only visible to the event owner and its managers.
  3. Enter one domain per line, e.g. example.com. Leave it empty to allow embedding on any site.
  4. Click the Save domains button to apply it.

This applies to every album in that event. Once set, embeds are blocked on any other domain via the browser's Content-Security-Policy, and the widget's API will refuse cross-origin requests from domains that aren't on the list. The WordPress plugin uses the same list to select this event for you on a matching site.

Don't see this section? You need to be the event's owner, or a manager added to it, to change embed domains.
