AI Content Safety Check

Screen guest photo uploads automatically with AI content moderation, so clean photos publish immediately instead of always waiting for a moderator.

1. How it works

Every photo it screens is checked against Amazon Rekognition, a computer-vision service that looks for explicit nudity, suggestive content, and rude gestures — the kind of thing you'd never want auto-publishing to your event's gallery without a human glancing at it first.

The scan happens automatically in the background right after a photo finishes uploading — usually within a few seconds, with no extra steps for your guests.

This only looks for a narrow set of moderation categories. It isn't a general content filter and won't catch things like blurry photos or unwanted people in frame — you (or your moderators) are still the final word on what gets approved.

2. What gets scanned

Coverage depends on how a photo was uploaded:

Photobooth uploads

Always screened automatically, on every plan, at no extra cost — a photobooth publishes without anyone watching it live, so it needs this safety net to auto-publish responsibly. This isn't part of the paid add-on below; it's built in.

Guest upload link uploads

Only screened if you've turned on the AI Content Safety Check add-on for the event (see “Turning it on” below). Without it, guest uploads from a shared link or QR code go straight to your normal manual moderation queue, same as always.

Photos only — Amazon Rekognition's moderation scan doesn't support video, so uploaded videos always go to manual moderation regardless of this setting.

3. What happens after scanning

A clean scan auto-approves the photo immediately, so it appears in the gallery right away instead of waiting in your moderation queue.

A flagged photo isn't rejected or deleted — it's simply left pending, exactly like any other guest upload, so you or a moderator can review it and decide.

If the scan itself fails for any reason (a temporary AWS hiccup, for example), the photo is left pending for manual review rather than being auto-approved or lost — nothing publishes without a check.

4. Turning it on

Only available for events on a plan that includes guest uploads.

Open the event's Edit page — you'll find “AI Content Safety Check” in the Plan section. Click Enable to start a subscription, billed at €4.95/month, separate from your event's plan.

It applies to every guest upload on that event from the moment it's enabled — there's nothing to configure per album.

Turn it off again anytime by clicking Disable — you'll keep it for the rest of the billing period you already paid for.
